In 1999 it was established as a branch of Janis Rozentals Art Highschool where children receive professional education in fine arts according to the programs developed by Janis Rozentals Art Highschool teaching staff for grades 5 through 9 in drawing, painting, composition, sculpture, art language, graphic arts and computer design. The school’s teaching staff includes professional artists. Classes (theory and practice) take place three times a week in weekday afternoons and on Saturdays.
A school year has two semesters. In the end of each semester students display their works to receive evaluation by the professional teaching staff. Student works are evaluated in a 10-grade scale. In late spring in the end of the school year outdoors art classes are conducted. Upon graduation the Children’s Art School graduates receive an official certificate of professional orientation education in visual arts and a list of grades.
